Alcantara®

Alcantara provides more grip than leather, especially across the hand-contact areas. This is why it is used on many performance-focused steering wheels.

On the sides, where your hands rest most often, it is the most purposeful choice. On the other areas, the decision is primarily about the look you want.

Nappa leather

Nappa leather provides the most familiar feel. Supple in the hand and consistent to the touch, it develops a patina with every journey.

The perforated version adds visual depth and a different texture while retaining the same balanced grip.

3K woven carbon

The signature carbon pattern in a 3K weave, available with a gloss lacquer or matte finish.

Its role is primarily visual. Harder and smoother than leather or Alcantara, it offers a less textured grip. It is naturally suited to areas where design takes priority.

Forged carbon

Here, the fibres are randomly pressed rather than woven, creating a marbled pattern unique to each piece. Every forged carbon steering wheel has its own pattern.

It also offers the widest colour range, from natural carbon to vivid shades. Like woven carbon, its character is primarily visual.

Electronic option

SHIFT LIGHT LED the LED display on your steering wheel.

An electronic module integrated into the top of the steering wheel. The LEDs illuminate progressively as engine speed rises and indicate the optimal shift point at a glance, while you keep your eyes on the road.

It connects to the vehicle's OBD port and works as soon as it is connected, with no configuration required.

01

OBD connection

The module connects to your vehicle's diagnostic port. The wiring harness remains intact.

02

Your OBD port remains available

A splitter connects the module through an extension, leaving an OBD port available for a garage or diagnostic tool.

03

Removable in seconds

A garage can remove the module when it needs the port and reconnect it afterwards. The settings remain ready to use.

04

Bluetooth adjustment

Colours and thresholds are adjusted through the Bluetooth module. Each LED supports several colours.

Settings are adjusted through a Bluetooth module. No app installation is required.

Compatibility

THE RETROFIT PACK exactly what it is for.

The retrofit pack has one purpose: fitting a steering wheel from a different generation to your vehicle.

For the same generation, your original parts are all you need. A BMW F Series receives an F Series steering wheel, and every component transfers directly.

01

Standard configuration

Your steering wheel controls and paddle electronics are transferred from your original steering wheel to the new one.

02

With the retrofit pack

The pack includes the steering wheel controls and paddle electronics. You retain your original airbag.

03

When to choose it

Choose it when changing steering wheel generation. Within the same generation, your original controls transfer directly.

04

Another reason to choose it

It provides new buttons, sometimes with their own customisation options. It is also a convenience choice.

You retain your original airbag in every case. Check compatibility with your vehicle before confirming your order.

01Which material should I choose for my steering wheel?

It is primarily a matter of personal taste. All four materials are designed to last and include a 3-year warranty.

The main functional difference is that Alcantara provides more grip on the sides, which is noticeable during track use or more engaged driving. For the remaining areas, choose the finish you most enjoy looking at.

Read our guide to choosing your steering wheel material.

02Does carbon improve grip?

Carbon is harder and smoother than leather or Alcantara, so it provides less grip.

It is an aesthetic choice, and we prefer to make that clear. For more grip, choose Alcantara on the sides and use carbon on the top, bottom or structure.

03Can I combine several materials on the same steering wheel?

Yes, and this is the most common configuration. Each area is selected separately: the sides, top, bottom and structure.

A classic combination uses Alcantara on the sides for grip, with carbon or leather elsewhere for the desired appearance.

04What is the difference between woven and forged carbon?

3K woven carbon has the regular chequered pattern most people recognise. Its fibres are woven, creating a consistent pattern from one piece to another.

Forged carbon uses randomly pressed fibres rather than a weave, creating an irregular marbled effect. Every piece is unique, and the colour range is much wider.

05Does the material affect the lead time or price?

It affects the lead time. Leather and Alcantara take approximately 4 weeks. Carbon and forged carbon take 4 to 6 weeks. Lead time depends on the material rather than the vehicle make.

It also affects the price, which updates live in the configurator as you build. Base prices start at €529.
